The ideal thing to do before even starting a workout session is to do a bit of warm up exercises. Most novice beginners are so focused on working there muscles that they end up forgetting to do any warm up exercises before lifting weights. It is a very major and costly mistake to start weight training without performing any warm up exercises. Warming up exercises have several effects on the body joints because they enhance there lubrication, hence the chances of succumbing to gym injuries are greatly reduced.

The best way to stimulate the muscles to be able to withstand heavy lifting is through warm ups. This is because warm up exercises helps increase the body temperature and metabolism. The best warm up exercises include the stationary bike and the treadmill. This warm up exercises should be done for at least ten minutes for them to be effective in jump starting the metabolic process.

A bodybuilder also needs to ensure that they undertake light stretching exercises fifteen minutes before the actual workout. This is very important because it increases the flexibility of the trainer. Flexibility is a very important factor when it comes to reducing gym injuries. When you omit stretching exercises from your training regimen the supporting muscles tissues when you are lifting weights become very stiff and thus the groove of your training program will be compromised.

Sometimes when you are undergoing intense training you might start experiencing a burning sensation in your muscles. A lot of people mistake this to be a growth of muscles. There is no relationship between a burning sensation of your muscles and muscle growth. When you feel this burning sensation it only implies that you have a build up of lactic acid in your muscles. This normally occurs when the muscles are undergoing intense training at a level which surpasses your lactic acid threshold. When you perform warm up exercises you are able to flush out the accumulated lactic acids from your muscles and thus ensure that the muscle tissues are supplied with fresh nutrients. The advantage of flushing out the accumulated lactic acids is that you become stronger to perform the next set.

The other thing you need to emphasize before weight training is to maintain proper movements. You need to avoid jerking, bouncing or partial movements when lifting weights. When you do this the net results will be cheating and hence you will not be able to expend the required amount of energy demanded by each set.

A body builder needs to control his speed and posture when lifting weights. Therefore the way he stands or sits during the lifting process needs to be checked. This is because all the above factors will determine whether or not the bodybuilder will be able to completely exhaust the whole muscles as required.

A body builder also needs to ensure that they are in the right form when prior to the workout session. This will enable them to avoid gym injuries. It is tantamount that a bodybuilder adheres to this because some gym injuries could make them quit training period.
